As a guide, sow one or more seeds per pot and cover with 2-3mm of fine compost. Maintain a temperature of 16-20 degrees. Seedlings & young plants – transplant seedlings to peat free fibre pots to keep them growing strongly. Handle them carefully and water them well when in position. Rooting cuttings – prepare cuttings and dip the ends in rooting compound if required. Push them firmly into the compost and water well. General guidance – transfer to larger pots or into the final position when the plant is large enough and the roots have penetrated the pot wall. Plant the complete pot and ensure the pot rim is covered.
